BAKER’S HIBERNICON.

This entertainment continues to receive the patronage which it deserves. Last night the Odd Fellows’ Hall was almost uncomfortably filled, but the variety and humor of the entertainment more than compensated for any little inconvenience which might have been experienced. The scenes of the “ Gem of the Ocean” are of course unalterable, but the selection of songs was almost entirely new. Mr. Baker's rendering of the now familiar, but ever popular, song of “ Come into the Garden Maud,” was given with fine effect, and the successful efforts of the singer brought forth applause which was only silenced by his reappearance. Mr. Vemer was again in. good voice and humor, and made a great deal of “ Snyder's Family Party,” and “ The "Wellington Policeman,” both songs taking immensely. The songs and duets in which Mr. and Mrs. Baker took part were given with almost faultless accuracy; they, also, were encored to the echo. To Johnny Moran the company owes something of its attractiveness, His pourtrayal of the several phases of the “ Wild Irish boy ” is very good, and on his first appearance on the boards each evening he immediately, establishes himself as a great favorite with the audience. There will be an afternoon exhibition and performance to-day, when, doubtless, the low prices of admission, combined with the popularity of the .entertainment, will secure a numerous attendance of juveniles. To-night, when there will he a further change of programme, is announced as the last appearance of Baker’s Hibernicon in Wellington.
