[PitEsa Telegkai>h Agency.] Nelson, Friday. The ship Michael Angelo Iras arrived in eighty-three days from the Downs, with 292 immigrants. Fine weather was experienced all the way. There is no disease on board. One adult and five infants died during the passage. Captain Luckie was found dead in his cabin on Monday last, from heart disease. A seaman named William Henry fell overboard during the passage and was drowned. The ship is beautifully clean, and in splendid trim. Greymoutii, Friday. The following is the handicap for the Greymouth Jockey Club prize :—Tambourini, 9st. 101 b.; Yatterina, Bst. 61b.; Tommy Dodd, 7st.; Ngaro, 7s. 21b.; Septimus, 6st. 121 b.; Guy Fawkes, 6st. 41b.; Kingfisher, Cst. 21b. New Plymouth, Friday. The Avalanche arrived off port at half-past three o'clock this morning. She has 230 passengers, seventy of whom are for Wellington. There was no sickness on board, and the passengers have arrived all well. She has discharged her passengers, and leaves for Wellington to-day. The Provincial Council yesterday adjourned sine die. The Appropriation Bill shows over £30,000 voted for the year. A motion was tabled in re abolition of the provinces, but it did not come on. The Clio got safely off the reef at Waitara and put to sea. Mr. Hulko, immigration agent, has received letters from England saying that there are plenty, of applications from monied men desirous of settling in New Zealand, but very few from laborers.
