Auctions. THIS HAY, TUESDAY, sth JANUAEY. MR. R. J. DUNCAN has received instructions from Mr. C. J. Pownali, who is changing his residence, to sell by public auction, °at Devonshire House, between Moleaworth and Murphy-streets, Nearly the whole of his valuable household furniture and effects, which are almost new. DUNCAN will sell by auction on Tuesday, 12th January, 1875, at his sale rooms, the following valuable City Properties, namely— Town Acre, No. 713, in Wallace-atreet, with dwelling-house, kitchen, and outhouses, stables for four horses ; all built within past two years. Town Acre Nos. 953 and 955, in one block, with double frontages to Stokesstreet and Adelaide-road. Plans of the above acres may be seen at the office of the auctioneer. Also, A piece of freehold land, 25ft. 6in. x 66ft., in Taranaki-street, together with that new and substantial dwellinghouse erected thereon, containing seven rooms. ■- Water laid on, and all other conveniences. TO BE SOLD, pursuant to an order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Canterbury district, dated the thirtieth day of October, 1874, made in a cause Rhodes v. Rhodes and Others, by Mr. Richard Walton, of Here-ford-atreet, Christchurch, the person appointed by the said Court, at-his auction rooms, in Hereford-stroet aforesaid, on THURSDAY, the 4th day of FEBRUARY, 1875, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, cer-tain freehold and pastoral property, known as the “ Ahuriri Estate,” situate at the Halswell river, in the Lincoln district, Province of Canterbury,_ in convenient lots to suit purchasers, and subject to conditions to be produced at the time of sale. The property comprises—--4673 acres 3 roods 14 perches, or thereabouts, of freehold land; 825 acres ‘ of pasturage land, without right of pre-emption; 1156 acres, with right thereon, held under and known as Canterbury Association pre-emp-tive rights; and 60 acres, with improvement pre-emptive right over the same under Canterbury Waste Lauds Regulations, all situate in the Lincoln district of the said Province of Canterbury; together with 1200 mixed sheep and 500 head of mixed cattle depasturing upon the said estate.
