Victoria appears determined that she shall he properly represented at the forthcoming great Centennial Industrial Exhibition at Philadelphia, to which we called attention some time ago. It was remitted by the Government to commissioners to make suggestions as to how the representation of Victorian industry could best be accomplished, and the commissioners have-reported that in their opinion an exhibition should bo held at Melbourne in August next. The idea has been adopted, and steps have already been taken to make the exhibition as complete a success as possible. Correspondence has been entered into with all the Australian colonies and New Zealand, with the settlements in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, and with all the territories from which it is at all probable that exhibits might he forwarded. In their report the commissioners suggest that the Government should grant a gnm of £SOOO - of this amount £3OOO is to be spent for the purposes of the exhibition, and £2OOO for buildings. In addition to the building to be erected with the £2OOO, the trustees of the Public Library will grant the use of all tho buildings that have been previously occupied for the purposes of an exhibition. New Zealand must take care that she is not left running last in this interesting industrial race. '
