MELBOURNE MARKETS. The following late report is from tho Melbourne Aram:— ln the import markets a considerable business was done at auction, but apart from that only the most trifling inquiry has been experienced for merchandise, Breadstuff's show no alteration. In oats , a decidedly better feeling la beginning to bo manifest, and Californian are now held at On. 3d. Maize is Improving In value ; sales are making now nt 6s. Gd. to sb, 7d. The rebagged portion of the Emma’s Californian cargo of barley, about 2000 bushels, was sold under the hammer this forenoon at 4s. lOd. to 4s. IOJa. in sugars a largo business has been done. 5374 mats Java and 4013 mats and pockets Queensland were cleared off at prices rising from £23 10s. to £3310»., and all intermediate figures. Teas are disposed of at Is. Pd. for low medium congous. Tho market will bo enlivened by tho offer to-morrow forenoon of tho Voni'a cargo, amounting to C9OO packages. Hops arc Inquired for, and business is likely to result. Of Calcutta comsacka SO bales were got rid of by auction c»

Id. In dried fruits wo note sales of currants at Bd. to 5 jd., and of muscatel raisins at Is. to Is. 33d. In liquids we report sales of 20-bottle JDKZ geneva at 14s. Cd. to 14s. 9d. An inquiry for Martell s dark brandy has led to sales at Bs., this description being very scarce.
