COLONIAL PRIZE FIRING.
WELLINGTON DISTRICT. The firing took place early this morning at the range in Polhill Gully. The light was bad, and the shooting, in consequence, very indifferent. Two men—one from Karori and one from Makera—have still to fire. As eighty-three points must be made, it will be seen that only one of the Volunteers, Private Eountree of the Scottish, has qualified himself : 200 400 800 GOO Tl.
