TRANSIT OF VENUS.
Sir, —Since writing my letter I have seen Dr. Hector. Ho wishes that the Observatory-hill should bo kept free from all visitors during tho whole of tho transit day. Aty telescope will be stationed, therefore, between two o'clock and five o’clock, in the Public Cemetery, at the back of Mr. Mantell’s. I can be reached from the cemetery entrances in Bolton-street or in Sydney-atreet. Signals will pass from tho Observatory to Major Palmer all day, and perfect freedom from any possible disturbance Is required.— I am, &c., A. Stock. Wellington, Dec. 4,.
