and James Paul, J.P.’s.) Mr. Buckley made an application, on behalf of Lorenz Beisterer, for a license for au hotel to be called the Terminus Hotel, on Thorn-don-quay. The police opposed the application, there not being sufficient accommodation for an hotel; also that the applicant had not submitted plans in accordance with the provisions of the Licensing Act. The Bench refused the application. Mr. Moorhouse applied for a license, on behalf of George Paling Campion, for a house known as the Globe Hotel, in the Adelaideroad. This applicant also had not deposited plans, and the Bench therefore refused to grant the application. Henry George Nicholls applied for a license for a house to be called the Caledonian

Hotel, on the Adelaido-road. The house being in an unfinished state, the application was adjourned for a week. Mr. Moorhouse applied for a license, on behalf of Philip Stephens, for the Berry Inn, at Porirua. The license was granted. The license held by David Calder, for the Rainbow Hotel, Kaiwafra, was transferred t Edward McLean. There was no appearance of either party to support the application for the transfer of th license held by John Einerden Coker, of the Galatea Hotel, to William K. Crowe. The application was accordingly refused. An application by Mrs. Ellen Spray for the transfer of the license held by her, for the Prince of Wales Hotel, to Jaoob Lichtscheiudle, was adjourned for a week. Application was granted for the tranfer to John Andrews of the license held by George Henry White, for the White Swan Hotel Cuba-street.
