Thursday, November 12., (Before J. C. Crawford, Esq., R.M.). VACCINATION. William Mitchell, for neglecting to get his child vaccinated within the time specified, was fined ss. and costs. Niueteenotherinformationsunderthe “Public Health Act, 1872,” were withdrawn. VAGRANCY. Two girls, named Charlotte Martin and , Emily Harris, who stated their ago to be under fifteen years, were charged with vagrancy. The constable who apprehended the prisoners found them in the Gymnasium building yesterday afternoon; and he had repeatedly seen the girls in the streets very late at. night. His Worship passed a sentence of ono calendar month, without hard labor, and expressed a hope that the prisoners’ morals would improve in-the meantime.»lnspector Atcheson thought the* girl Harris incorrigible. f ASSAULT. John Walden was charged by his wife; Sarah Walden, with assaulting her. She also , complained that her husband was a lunatic. His Worship dismissed the charges. Shortly afterwards Mrs. Walden applied for a summons against her husband for using threatening language towards her. On being called on the defendant denied the charge. His Worship again dismissed him with a caution, defendant promising to use his best endeavors to get along smoothly with his wife. ; - ' - • TRESPASS. Monk v. Longhurst. This was a case for trespass on the Makara highway, brought by the authorities of that district. The defendant ■ pleaded not fpiilty, but the evidence showed that a colt had been allowed to stray. His Worship said the offence was very trivial, and , fined the defendant 20s. and costs, the minimum penalty under the Act. CIVIL OASES. Collins v. Kinvague. A claim for repairs found to be necessary to promises which the defendant had recently vacated, and which had been leased by him from the plaintiff. An amount was paid into Court, for which sum His Worabip gave judgment.
