MADAME GODDARD'S CONCERT.

The plan of seats for Madame Arabella Goddard's concert on Tuesday next will be opened for selection this morning, and the advertisement announces the artists by whom the eminent pianiste will be assisted, viz., Mrs. Smythe and Mr. Skinner (vocalists), and Herr Wilhelm Doehler (violinist). Sho has also been Madame Goddard's principal vocalist in her two Australian tours —a sufficient recommendation in itself of Mrs. Smythe's vocal abilities. Of Herr Doehler we do not know much, for he has only recently arrived from Europe ; but we expect a great deaL He comes from a good musical family, being nephew of the celebrated pianist and composer, Doehler ; and in welcoming to Australia this new addition to the ranks of skilled executants in music, whose only public appearance was at Madame Goddard's farewell concert in the Melbourne Opera House, the Argus declares that Herr Doehler " displayed the accomplishments of high training allied with great musical sensibility." Herr Doehr ler was also solo violinist at the Crystal Palace, Sydenham—a good criterion of his artistic talent. Mr. K. L. Skinner, a* tenor, has, we are informed, been singing for some time at Sydney concerts, tbut deeming Melbourne a better field, went there, when he was fortunate enough to be at once engaged by Madame Goddard. The appearance cf a new tenor is always'an event of some interest to musical connoiseurs. The conductor of the company is Mr. Harcourt Lee, well known as a skilful accompanyist..
