The Maiden Plate, of 100 sovs. Entrance, 5 sovs.-; one mile" and a-half. For all horses maidens at the time of entering. Weight for age. The Wellington Cup, a handicap of 200 sovs., '.with a sweepstakes of 10 sovs. each ; the second horse to receive 25 sovs., and the third horse to save his stakes. Two miles. The winner of any handicap race of the value of 200 sovs., after declaration of .weights, tot carry 71b.; of two or more such races, 101 b. extra ; of any such handicap race of the value of 100 sovs., to carry 51b. extra ; of two or- more such races, 81b. extra. Nominations, enclosing 2 sovs., to be made to the acting secretary, at the Empire Hotel, Wellington, before ’8 p.m. of Thursday, Ist October, 1874. Weights to be declared On Monday, 19th October, 1874. Acceptances, with 5 sovs. of the sweep, to be made to the Acting Secretary, before 8-p.m. on Monday, 9th November, 1874 ; the balance of sweep, 5 sovs., to be made good on night of general entry, Monday, 23rd November, 1874. Selling Race of 50 soys. Entrance, 3 sovs ; .one mile and a quarter. Weights as for one mile. The winner to be sold for £SO. If entered to be sold for £4O, allowed 71h.; £3O, 141 b.; £2O, 211 b. The winner to be sold by auction, with his engagements, and any surplus to go to the fund. Hack Race of 10 sovs. Entrance, 10s.; catch weights ; mile and a distance ; post entry. For all horses that have not won public money, hack races excepted. The Provincial Plate of 100 sovs.. Entrance, 6 sovs.; the second horse to receive 20 sovs, and the third to save hia stake. One mile and a half. For all horsesowned for six months prior to the race by hona fide settlers of the Province of Wellington. Weight for age. " SECOND DAY. Friday, December 4, 1874. Handicap Hurdle Race of 75 sovs. Nomination, 2 sovs., to be made to the Acting Secretary at' the Empire Hotel before 8 p.m. on Thursday, Ist -October, 1874 ; , weights to he declared on Monday, 19th October. Acceptances, with 3 sovs., to be made on night of general entry, Monday, 23rd November, 1874. Two miles, over 7 flights of hurdles, 3ft. 9in. high. Hack Hurdle Race of 10 sovs. Entrance, 1 sov.; mile and a distance, over four hurdles ; post entry. The Wellington Derby of 100 sovs., added to a sweepstake of 10 sovs. each ; h. ft. ; for three-year-olds. Colts, \Bst. 101 b. ; : fillies, Bst.'slb. 2'sovs. on nomination, 3 sovs, on acceptance on the day of general entry, Monday, 23rd November, 1874,, and 5 sovs. before 10 a.m. on the day of the race. Distance, one mile and a half. Closed with 18 subs. The Jockey Club Handicap, of 100 sovs., added to a sweepstakes of 5 sovs. each. Nomination, 3 sovs.,’ to be made to the Acting Secretary, at the Empire Hotel, before 8 p.m. on Monday, 23rd November, ■1874. ■ The weights to be declared- at 8 p.m. on the night of the first day’s races, and acceptance, with sweepstakes of 5 sovs., to be declared on the course at twelve o’clock on the morning of the second day’s races. One mile and a half. Second horse to save his stakes.. The Consolation Handicap, of 50 sovs.; • second horse to receive 10 sovs.. Entrance, 2 sovs. Once round the course. Hack Race, of 10 sovs. Entrance, 10s; catch weights; post entrance. The winner of the Hack Race on the first day not allowed to start for this race. RULES AND REGULATIONS. All horses to he at the post at the appointed time for starting each race, and the Stewards may give the starter power to start the horses at the post without ’ waiting for any other horse, or may fine the owner, trainer, or jockey of such other horse, a sum of money not exceeding £2, to go to the Race Eund. In all selling races the winner shall be sold with his engagements at the Meeting. Any surplus above the selling price- shall belong to the Wellington Jockey Club ; and any horse in such selling race, though not a winner, may, at the request of any person, made to the Stewards within fifteen minutes of weighing the first horse, be put up to auction in the same way as the winner, the upset price to be the! amount at which he is, to bo sold, or entered to be sold, together with the value of the stake. Any surplus to belong to the Wellington Jockey Club. General entries : 'Monday, 23rd November, at 8 p.m. All entrances and acceptances must he in sealed covers, addressed to the Acting Secretary, Empire Hotel, and contain entrance money, sweepstakes, description and age of horse, and colors to be worn by the jockey. A penalty’of 2 sovs. will be enforced for riding in wrong colors. The rules of the Wellington Jockey Club will be. strictly adhered to. Mares and geldings allowed 31b. No person to enter a horse unless he is a subscriber of not less than £2 2s. to the funds; and no person to nominate unless both owner and nominator be subscribers of the same amount. , . In the event, of any person entering a protest, the sum of £2 2s. must be lodged -with the Secretary before such protest is considered. This sum to be forfeited ■to flip funds should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. . Eive per cent, will be deducted from the gross of all moneys, paid in accordance with the programme, for expenses. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the programme shall be final NOTE. —Nominations, Entries, and Acceptances will not be received after the time stated, under any pretence whatever.
