We hear from Ulr, ' Donald, of- Karori that the birds imported by the Acclimatisation Society are spreading rapidly in that district, ho having lately seen flocks of magpies, quail, &c. It is to be hoped that no person will molest them, as the settlers look upon them as a great boon; Mr. Donald would be glad to receive some small birds to, bo let loose in his garden, whore no doubt they would increase very fast.
