BY TELEGRAPH. WANGANUI. August 28.— Arrived, 12.15 p.m.: Stormbird, from Wellington. 1.15 p.m. : Manawatu, from Wellington. LYTTELTON. August 2S.—Arrived. 1 p.m. : Ladybird, from Dunedin, with Suez mail.' Both the Manawatu and the Stormbird made rather long passages to Wanganui on their last trip, most probably owing to bad weather. The p s. Luna left Manukau on the 2Gth at 4 p.m., and arrived off Taranaki at 8 o'clock the following morning There being too much sea on to land, she proceeded on, and arrived in harbor yesterday mornin°* at 2.30. Experienced rough weather throughout. To-day will be rather a busy one on the wharf, as several steamers are to arrive and depart. The Tararua sails for Melbourne, via the South, with the Suez mail, at 11 o’clock a.m. ; the Taranaki goes north about noon; and the Luna sails for Auckland in the afternoon. The arrivals should be the Ladybird, from the South, with the Albion’s mails; the Wellington, from Northern ports, and the Stormbird and Manawatu, from Wanganui.
