Mails close at the Chief Post Olftce, Wellington, as follows: ' For New Plymouth ami Manukau, per s.s, Luna, this day, at IX a. in. For Napier, Auckland, and Levnka, per s.s. Star of the South, on Tuesday, at noon. For Napier, Castle Point, and Poverty Bay, per s.s. Kangatira, on Monday, at 4 p.m. For Nelson, Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika, Australia, per s.s. Otago, this day, at 2 p.m. For Europe, America and West Indies, via Suez. Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, Bluff, Australia, and India, per s.s. Tararua, on Friday, the 28th inst., at noon.
The steamer Omeo is expected to leave Hbkitika at 1 p.m. this day (Friday), the 21st instant. Telegrams for the Australian Colonies or Europe via Java Cable, will be received at the Telegraph Office, Wellington, for transmission to Newcastle up till 11 a.m. Edwajid D. Butts, Chief Postmaster.
