THE OPERA LESSEES.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— Referring to a letter which appeared in yesterday’s paper signed “An Anxious Enquirer,” I have no hesitation in informing you that I was one of the lessees of the Theatre on the occasion of its engagement of the late opera season. However, I beg to take this opportunity of, acquainting you and your readers that I was not consulted as to the publication of a letter which appeared in one of your evening contemporaries signed “ The Lessees,” and that I totally disavow and disapprove of the ill-disguised attack made therein on His Excellency the Governor. —I am, &c., Robert Bukrett. , Wellington, August 12.
