The schooner Alert, which sailed yesterday, put back in the evening, , . , The barque Record cleared away from the wharf yesterday, and dropped down to the lower anchorage, where she awaits a chance to saiL ... Messrs. Turnbull and Co.’s s s. Napier arrived from Foxton yesterday about noon, having left that port at 8 a.m. the previous day. During her passage she experienced a heavy southerly gale, which forced her to take shelter under Mana. At 7 the next morning she was able to proceed, and experienced fine weather for the rest of theltrip. There was a heavy swell on in the Straits. , . . , , The commander of the Cyphrencs has telegraphed to the Company’s agents here, that be will bring vessel alongside the wharf, to receive cargo and St The N.Z.S.S. Co.’s steamer Wellington, M. Carey, commander, arrived at 11.15 a.m. yesterday. She left Wellington at 10.15 a.m. on the 23rd instant. Had a strong south-west breeze, with heavy head sea to Lyttelton, where she arrived at 9 a.m. next day. Transhipped 160 immigrants, ex Peeress, for Timaru, leaving at 4 p.m. Made the roadstead at 8 a.m. on the 25th. but finding too much sea for the boats to come off, came to anchor. Stood in again at daylight on Sunday, and succeeded in landing all safely by noon. Reached Port Chalmers at 10 p.m. Left at 4 p.m. on the 27th. Arrived at Oamani, and anchored for the night, at 10 p.m. Loaded and started again at 6 p.m. on the 28th. 1 Arrived at Lyttelton at 11 a.m. on the 29feb. Left again at 5.16 p.m., and arrived as above. Experienced fresh southwest breeze with thick rain from Lyttelton.
