THE ANGLO-NEW ZEALAND MARKETS. (From the European Mail, June 2. AVool. —There was a very fair attendance of both Home and Continental buyers at the wool salerooms (June 1), when Messrs. J. T. Jacomb, Son and Co. state that the second scries of public sales of Colonial wool for this year is still in progress, and will probably last to June 17. Under the influence of increased Continental competition, the tone of the market has improved during the past week or two. More than two-thirds of the quantity has now passed the hammer. About 10,000 bales have been bought in, or withdrawn at auction; but a large portion thereof have been otherwise placed. All good combing wools, washed and in grease, have improved in value Id. to lid. per lb. since tho open-ing-superior descriptions have especially improved as their proportionate supply, in the present and future, becomes less. Clothing parcels do not show so much improvement. Middle and faulty New South AVales and Queensland fleece (being mostly inferior to last year’s clip) are heavy of sate at little improvement on the opening rates of these sales. Lambs’ wool, and coarse and half-bred fleece, improved towards the middle of the month, but are now duller of sale again, as are all rough wools dependent on Bradford custom. Tho New Zealand wools offered arc mostly in heavier condition than those of last year. Capes sell with spirit, having in most instances improved in value since the commencement. New Zealand Hemp. —The market is in a most depressed condition for all descriptions, the demand being of the most restricted character.
