The great want of a thoroughly Coloal Banking Institution for the whole Colony ■ New Zealand having been long felt, it has icn determined by the Provisional Comittee to supply the same by placing before te public the present carefully considered iherae, with the full confidence that it will .eet with very general support. 2nd. As a first step, it is proposed to offer I the people of this Colony one half of the jminal capital or 200,000 shares, in fair ■oportions to each of the Provinces throughit New Zealand, on the basis of the respecve populations of each Province, reserving ie other half to he disposed of hereafter, as te rapid progress of the Colony may demand id shareholders may decide; hut in no istanoe will any of the remaining shares > offered for sale out of the Colony without wing been first offered to tbe Colonial olders, nor null any but a New Zealand .egister be kept. 3rd. It is Intended that the Head Office of ie Bank' shall he in Dunedin, and that a eneral Manager of high professional standig shall be appointed to guide the operations : the Bank ; and also that a Board of quali--3d Directors shall be elected from among the ommittee to advise with the General Mana- ., and generally watch the interests of the lole Institution. As soon as a sufficient number of ares shall have been applied for to warrant s commencement of business, the Head ice will bo opened in Dunedin, in suitable emisos ab-eady secured under offer, and ireafter Branches trill gradually be opened the Chief Centres of Settlement throughout ; Colony. 3th. It trill be the chief aim of the Prefers of this Bank to aid and conserve alike : interests of the whole community in this louy. Tin? Mercantile, Trading, Pastoral, Mining, Artizan, and Laboring vsses trill each have fair treatment and supi•t from the Colonial Bank.
