To the Electors of the Wellington CountryDistricts.
A NOTHER V aqancy has occurred for -^*- the representation of your Districts in the Provincial Councl by* the demise of Mr. A. Brown. From the large amount of ?uppo»"t received by me on the last occasion, I am ngarn induced to become a Candidate for your suffrages. I moat repeat what was stated in my former address, viz,, that I do not come forward as an opponent of any individual or party, but simply as a matter of public duty, and that I shall feel it to be equally a matter of duty, if elected, to resign the trust into your hands whenever you shall deem it necessary so to do. Having resided some few years in this Province, during which period I have never shrunk from expressing my political opinions, or of taking part in passing events, I may fairly assume, that further allusion to them is unnecessary at this time, seeing that I purpose meeting you in public, in order to afford such explanations as may be required.
If I am returned as your Representative, you will find in roe a firm and consistent' supporter of any measure calculated to be"beneficial to the interests of the whole community, no matter by whom proposed, whilst I shall as fearlessly oppose that which I feel will bs likely to have £*. contrary tendency. The peculiar interests of mv own constituents
will always receive my first and best attention. In conclusion, I beg to observe, that in seeking to be your Representative, I have no personal ambition to gratify, or private ends 1 to serve ; and if you elect me, you will find that I shall be second to none in the faithful discharge of the trust reposed in me. '1 I have the honor to be, Your obedient servant, WILLIAM ALLEN.
