• ' Wm. BOWLER, SON, & CO. Wellington, September 16, 1854.
To the Electors of Wellington.
(7J.ENTLEMEN — A vacancy having occurred in your Provincial Council by the retirement of Mr. G. Moore, I take the earliest opportunity of offering you ray services as one
of your Representatives. Being one of your earliest settlers, and personally known to most of you, it becomes less necessary for me to enter upon thpse detailed explanations, which would otherwise be fairly expected. At the same time, I will take the opportunity "of declaring briefly, but emphatically, my cordial support of those liberal political opinions which are now happily in the ascendancy in this Province. I am, and shall continue to be, a supporter of the 'present- Government, so long as their policy continues in accordance with those liberal institutions which they have so successfully in-, augurated. It is from a conviction that my lengthened experience, with regard to the surveys and capabilities of the Waste Lands of the Province, will be of practical service in Council, that I now offer myself as a Candidate ; and, should I be elected, I can with confidence refer to that independence of character which, I trust, has ever distinguished me amongst you, as a guarantee that I shall discharge my public duties in a faithful and liberal spirit. I am, ' Gentlemen, Your most obedient servant, ROBERT PARK. Wellington, July 14, 1854.
