1. East side of Ruamahanga — Bounded towards the south by the sea coast, towards the west by the Ruamahanga river up to the confluence of the Makahalcaha stream, towards the north by the Makahnkaha stream, and towards the east and northeast by a range running parallel to the Aorangi range. Excepting always a block of 1,500 acres at Turanganui to be granted to the chief Raniera, a block of one thousand acres at Puhangina to be granted to the chief Te Manihera, and certain other small reserves for the natives to be hereafter particularly defined. 2. West side of Ruama7ianga-~ Bounded towards the south by the sea coast from Orongorongo to the entrance of the Wairarapa Lake, thence by the lake to the junction of the Tauwatfenikau river, thence by a line running about north-east to the eastern side of the forest known as Morrisons hush, thence along the eastern side of that bush to Waraungahou, thence through the bush to Te Takapau, thence by a line running about north to the "SVaiohine river, thence up that river about two miles, thence by a line running north-easterly to the \faungawa river, thence . across that river through Kohangawarew&re to fheWoipowa river, thence after including a small block at Makura to the Ruamahanga river, «nd thence up that river into the Tararua range. Excepting always a reserve of 6ne hundred acres for the chief Rawiri Pihirau at Tawarenikau, and certain other reserves at Kaikokiri and elsewhere north of the Waiugawa river to be hereafter particularly defined. Excepting also a Public Reserve of about (10,000) ten thousand acres at the point where the North Road
