'T'HE Union Bank of Australia will be •*- closed on Monday and Toksdat, the 2nd and 3rd of January, for the usual balancing of the Books. Bills for Discount will be received on Wednesday, tbe 4tb of January, up to the hour of one o'clock, p.m., on and after which date the Rate of Discount charged at this Bank will be on Bills having 100 days to run, and under 8 per cent., and on Bills having more than 100 days to run 10 per cent.
