An order has been issued from the War office,, permitiing the 33rd Foot to take the name of " Duke of Wellington's Regiment." It was in this corps that the late Duke entered the army, and first served in India. '1 here is no probability or the Crystal Palace at Sydenhim, being opened to the public till the spring of next year. An interesting question is about to come before the Court ot Session relative to the remarkable mineral recently discovered in the neighbourhood of Bathgate, and known as the Boghead parrot coal. This mineral, since its discovery by Russell and Son, of Falkirk, the lessees, has been worked by them as a coal ; but the proprietor of part of the field, Mr, Gillespie, of Torbane-hill, says that it is not coal, but argillobitumen, or some such thing, which, however correct it may be as a scientific terra, is not known we believe as a mercantile one. The question will be tried by a jury ; and altogether, from the magnitude of the interests involved and the scientific nature of the question, it will beoneof the most important cases brought before the Court since the famous hot-blast case. — Glasgow

The Russian Royal Family in Engand. — The Grand Duchess Marie of Russia, eldest daughter of the Emperor, and widow of the Duke de Leuchtenberg, is on the eve of visiting this country«for the benefit of the health of Her I.rojoeriaUHighness's youthful family. Her Majesty's Government steamer Vivid, Captain Smithett, left Dover yesterday morning for Antwerp, to be in readiness to receive the Grand Duchess, and convey Her Imperial Highnessand suite to England. Count Wieihorski, Second Secretary of the Russian Legation, has gone ir> the Vividxo Antwerp to be in attendance upon th& Grand Duchess. Her Imperial Highness will be accompanied by her six children. His Excellency Baron Brunow will leave town for Dover thismorning, to be in readiness to receive the Grand Duchess on her arrival at that port. Her Imperial Highness will proceed from Dover direct for Torquay, where a mansion has been taken for the season for the accommodation of the Grand' Duchess and her Imperial family. The Grand Duchess Catherine of Russia, daughter of the Grand Duke Michael, and niece of the Emperor,, is also about to pay another visit to this country in company with her Royal consort the Duke George of Mecklenburg Strelitz. Her Imperial* Highness was so much pleased with her residence at Shanklin, in the Isle of Wight, last year, that she has decided on again visiting the same locality, and a very flue mansion has been taken for her Imperial Higbness's accorrmodation at Ryde. The Vivid is under orders to proceed — immediately after her arrival at Dover with the Grand Duchess Marie — to Ostend, from which port the Grand Duchess Catherine and her Royal Coasort will embark for England. Count Bloudolff, Attache to the Russian Legation, proceeds to Ostend in the Vivid, to be in attendance upon the Grand Duchess. — Times, July 9.
