[From the Government Gazette, August I.] PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Sir George Grey, a Knight Commander of the most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-m-Chief in and over the Islands of New -Zealand, and Vice Admiral of the same, &c, &c, &c. TOfHEREAS certain allotments o£ land * * forming part of the Demesne of the Crown in the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, have been marked out and distinguished on the charts of the said Province as Reserves for public purposes. Now therefore, I, the Governor of the Islands of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands hereinafter particularly described being Crown Lands in the Province of Nelson aforesaid, shall be set apart and reserved for ever for public purposes, and more especially if requisite for the public purposes hereinafter set forth respectively, viz, : ■ Reserve for a Custom House in the Town of N;dson, containing one acre and twenty perch\s, marked P on the plan of the said town, Bounded on the Northward partly by Nelson Haven, and partly by Waken eld Quay: on the Eastward by Section numbered 30 ; on the Southward by land granted to George William Schroder: and on the Westward partly by Section 28, and" partly by Nelson Haven. ■ Reserve for a watering place in the Town of Nelson, containing two roods, and marked 0 on the plan of the said town ; bounded on the Northward, Southward, and Westward by Nelson Haven, and on the Eastward by Wakefield Quay. Reserve for Military purposes in the Motueka District, containing Thirty-six acres, and marked E on the plan of the said district ; bounded on the North by Section numbered 94; on the East and South by. Public Roads, and on the West by Section numbered 67. All which said lands are more particularly delineated on the Charts of the said Province, filed in the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands at Nelson. This Proclamation shall take effect from and after the date hereof. Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Islands of New Zealand, at Government House, at , v Wellington, in the Province of Welv L - s v Hngton, in the Islands aforesaid, this First day of August, in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Fifty three.
