S»,<—With reference to raiy despatch, No. 46 of the 31ft ultimo, relative to adjuttment of the claims of the Nelson settlers, I transmit you herewith a copy of a report which I hate received from th« Colonial Land and Emigration Commissioners on the case of Mr. Duppa. So far as the information before me enables me to form an opinion on tbi* subject, I concur in the concluiiona adopted by the Commissioners, and expressed in this report; and 1 consider the award given in favour of Mr. Duppa to be ona which, unless there are reasons in favour of it which I am not aware, ought on no account to be confirmed. But, having thus expressed my own views, I think it-necessary to Jeavt the cas* for your decision, I have, &c, (Signed) Grey. Governor Sir George Grey, &c, &c.
