, The Sydney Free Press states, on the autho- » rity-o^aTgentletnan just arrived from India in Sydney^ via Perth, that Dr. Brady, the Roman Catholic Bishop, was labouring under mental aberration. "No doubt he must nave exhibited some symptoms of this mental imbecility •while at Rome, otherwise the Ecclesiastical Authorities there would not have taken such prompt and decisive steps regarding him, 'when it was found th,at he had left that city clandestinely. For we understand that onjers were immediately issued by the Pope "for his return to Rome, and letters of suspension from his sa cred functions were expedited bythe Cardinal Prefect of the Propaganda, inflicting this censure ipso facto in case of his return to Perth. And it was a communication to this effect that called off at oncfia|he Archbishop of Sydney, to visit Perth, in orfMßfto prevent any scandal that may arise to religion from the acts of a Bishop labouring under such peculiar circumstances."
