General Cathcart's arrival was daily expected. In the meantime, contradictory reports as to the renewal of hostilities oa the frontier were poured' into Cape Town. It appears but too true that Dr. Davidson aud several soldiers of the 43rd Regiment, forming part of an escort conveying supplies to Colonel Eyre's camp, were killed in a skirmish about the 18th Feb. — Melbourne Argus.
