Auckland Shipping. . / ' The U. S. Ship Lion, which sailed hence on the Bth March, returned to our harbour yesterday. She has beeifcruising'off'the'Cu'rtis's, and has taken 1 85 barrels spermsince she left Auckland. She fell in with plenty of whales,' and Would have taken more had the weather not been 'so bad ; she lost two whales in consequence of a succession of heavy weather. She touched at Sunday Island, and reports the following vessels having touched there :—: — , March 22. — Richard Mitchell, ship, 1500 barrels sperm, bound home ; Christopher Mitchell (touched at Auckland in November last,) 39 months out, 1700.barrels sperm, bound home. April 13 — Commodore, ship/ Morris, 30 months, "out, 900 -barrels" sperm ;. Mountevaller, 16 months out, 500 barrels sperm, bouud to the Arctic Ocean. Bth.
