Wellington Athenaeum and Mechanics' Institute. HPHE TENTH ANNIVERSARY of -*■ this Institute 'will be celebrated at the Hall of the Athenaeum, on Thursday, the 6lh of May, by a Soiree, at which his Excellency Sir G. Grey has consented to preside. English Shipping. H. M. Ship Havannah arrived at Portsmouth on the 4th December, and H. M. Ship Fly arrived at Devonport the same day. The Barque Laura, hence September 14th, arrived December 24 th. The John Phillips, for Auckland, New Plymouth, and Nelson, left Deal on the 24th December. The Barbara Gordon, for Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago, was to sail December 20 ; the Staff, for Canterbury, Wellington and other Ports, Dec. 31 ; the Inchinnan, for Auckland, with emigrants, Jan 5.
Lyttelton Shipping. The Oriental, the Duke of Roxburgh, and the Tory, ■with stock, and the Perseverance, .with general cargo, fi om Sydney, had arrived at Port Victoria prerious to the departure of the Fly.
