We have received a New Zealander and a Southern Cross, by the overland mail, but they do not contain any local intelligence of interest. The rumour of the discovery of gold at Waiheki, appears to be of a similar nature to the reports of the finding of gold a short time since current in the Southern Settlements. Lord Grey’s despatch (printed in the Government Gazette) on the New Zealand Company’s Settlements Act of Parliament had been received at Auckland, and had been published in the New Zealander.
