Last Tuesday’s Government Gazetie con tains a Naturalization notice of two foreign' ers, and a notice of the appointment of C Kettle, Esquire, to be Government Sur. veyor at Otago ; notice is given of a special meeting of Justices on the 12th instant, for the purpose of forming a Militia List’ f or this district, for 1852-53, and tenders are invited for certain improvements to beun. dertaken in connection with Lambton Q uav by reclaiming a portion of land from the harbour. This is the commencement of the improvements we alluded to a year ago ; we understand the works now 10 be executed comprise that portion of Lambton Quay, extend, ing from the corner of Willis Street to Wallace’s Hotel, the land in front of which will be sold for building purposes. Tenders for the works will be received at the Colonial Secretary’s office, until the 15th March.
