anniversary fete. Financial Report. THE Superintending Committee of the Anniversary Fete have much pleasure in publishing, for general information, the following Financial Report, and in doing so, they would be wanting in their duty if they did not return their sincere thanks to the subscribers to the Fete for their liberal patronage and support. which enabled them to celebrate the Twelfth Birth Day of the Colony in a manner worthy of Wellington and its inhabitants. They congratulate their fellow settlers on the result of their exertions, and feel confident that from henceforth the 22nd of January will be held as a day of general rejoicing in this, the capiial of the first British Settlement in New Zealand. The committee have gre t pleasure in remarking that the sports, both Aquatic and Rural were of the best description, and that the prizes awarded have given general satisfaction. After the whole of the expenses have been paid, they are happy to say that they have a small balance in hand, which will be seen from the following, statement of their Receipts and Disbursements.
