NELSON.
The survey line now being cut between Nelson and the Wairau preparatory to making the proposed road, is threatened with obstruction by the natives living in the Pelorus. A few days will show us whether or not they are in earnest. — Nelson Examiner, April 19. The Castle Eden. —It has been surmised that this missing vessel may have proceeded direct to Sydney, instead of stopping to call here with the small cargo she had on board for this place, intending to send it back by one of our traders, together with her passengers. The vessel was very short handed when she left Lyttelton, and might therefore have preferred running direct to Sydney, where she was bound after calling at this port. — Ibid, April 26.
