Robert J. Walker for President,The Tribune says that a secret movement ij going on in New York to effect an organiza. tion of the Free Trade Importers, Shippen, Agents of Foreign Manufactures. &c.. toy. complish the nomination of the Hon. Robert J. Walker, of Miss., as the next Locofoa candidate for the Presidency. Theschemeit said to be supported by a subscription over 200,000 dollars—one half of which is payable on demand, and the residue of the sum is six months; with the prospect that the subscription may be increased at New York and at other commercial ports on both sides of the Atlantic, to a million of dollars. From what we can learn from newspaper reports and private advices, we are disposed to beiiue that this scheme of forcing Bob Walker on the course, is seriously contemplated. We will agree to run a Whig who will distance either be or Cass in the next Presidential race, James S. Calhoun, of Georgia, was nominated by the President as Governor of lb Territory of New Mexico, and Hugh N, Smith for Secretary. No nomination has yet been made for Judge.
