A Meeting of persons interested in forming a Building Society was held on Tuesday evening at the Mechanics’ Institute, and was numerously attended. Mr. R. Hart, who had been called to the chair, briefly explained the objects proposed in the formation of the Society and its importance to the cornnmnity # and said ha had a rough draft of an Ordinance to meet the requirements of the contemplated Society. Other persons addressed the meeting and several shares were taken at the conclusion of the proceedings. Another meeting will be hela on Tuesday evening next for the purpose of electing a committee and other officers.
