the native policeman who carries the nail from Manawatu to Wellington was passing Waikawa, on Thursday, he was inprmed that the body of a white man had teen discovered in the bush. He went out 1* his road in order to examine the body, yhich he found to be in a state of decomposition, but not exhibiting any marks of |iolence, and gave directions for its decent iterment. From the description <riven of lie body it is believed to be that°of Mr. |ennie, formerly of the Customs, who has pen ior some time past missing m that neighbourhood.
