AUCKLAND.

[From the New Zealander.'] Coroner’s Inquest.—An inquest was held at the Windsor Castle Inn, Parnell, yesterday afternoon, before Wm. Davies, Esq., Coroner, on the body of Mr. William Fellowes, late proprietor of a small school in that neighbourhood, who had died suddenly in the course of the preceding morning. From the evidence of Dr. McGauran, who had made a post mortem examination of the body, the jury were at once satisfied that the cause of death was apoplexy, and returned a verdict accordingly. Auckland Agricultural and Horticultural Society,—-The Annual Meeting of this Society was held on Saturday afternoon last, at the ‘ Exchange Hotel,’ for the election of officers and general business, Major Matson, President, in the chair. The fol. lowing officers were appointed for the ensuing year: President, Percival Berrey, Esq Vice Presidents, W. F. Porter, Esq., Captain Hamilton; Committee, Messrs. William Connell, T. D. Cleghorne, Samuel Clarke, Jos, May,JF. W. Merriman, A. Mears, R. x ans, R. Taylor, and Jas. Williamson. The Report of the Committee was read and ordered to be printed.
