ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor of the “New Zealand Spectator.’’ Wellington, 6th February, 1851. Sir —I beg the favour of your publishing the enclosed, a copy of which has been sent to the editor of the Independent. I am. sir, Your obedient servant, D. Munn.

To the Editor of the ‘ Wellington Independent.’ Wellington, 6th February, 1351. Mr. Editor, ■ — As you have taken the liberty, in your last paper, to use my name in supposing what I said and read at the last meeting was written in the Government offices, and thinking that silence on this subject would be taken by the people for consent on my part, I hope you will not refuse the insertion of this in your next paper ; I hereby distinctly deny ever having seen or spoken to any one connected with Government offices or Government, but merely sal down in my own house and read the resolutions when printed in your paper of the Ist inst., and wrote what my opinion was of them unaided by any person or persons, thinking many other settlers would have done the same. In case you should no!: have room in the next number of your paper, I will also hand a copy of this to the Spectator for insertion. 1 am, Sir, your’s obediently, Dani,. Munn.
