Annular Eclipse of the Sun. — This evening an annular Eclipse of the Sun will take place, which will be visible in New Zealand. The following particulars relating to the Eclipse are extracted from the Cook's Strait Almanack for the present year :— Beginning of Eclipse (mean time. Wellington), sh. 45m. 4s. p.m. Greatest phase, Gh. 40m. Os. Ending, 7h. 41 tri. ss. Magnitude of Eclipse (the Sun’s diameter = 1.0) = 0.77. As the Sun will set on that day at 7h. 3m., the ending of the Eclipse will not be visible.
