PREPARATORY GRAMMAR SCHOOL, FOR YOUNG GENTLEMEN, AUCKLAND.
MR. S. KEMPTHORNE receives into his family a limited number of Young Gentlemen, to educate with his own sons. The Course op Instruction includes the Elements of Latin, Greek, and French 5 English Reading, Writing, and Composition : Arithmetic, Geography, and other usual branches. The Mathematics, including the Elements of Euclid, Algebra and Plane Trigonometry, will be taught to the elder boys. This Terms (payable quarterly in advance) are for Boa risers, under 10 years of age, £30 per annum"; above that age, £36 per annum. Day Scholars from £10 to £16 according to age. (In case of Brothers, a reduction will be made.) A Quarter's notice is required, previous to the removal of a Pupil. There are 2 Vacations ; — one of 5 weeks at Christmas, and the second of 3 weeks at the end of June. To accomodate the friends of Pupils at a distance, arrangements are made for keeping them during either Vacation. The System pursued, is that of sound, moral, and religious training upon the principles of the Church of England ; habits of diligence, activity, and general usefulness, are inculcated. The Locality is exceedingly healthy and pleasant, adjoining the Government Domain, and overlooking the Harbour, and is a retired spot, though at a convenient distance from the Town.
