AUCKLAND.
We have an -arrival from San Francisco direct, in the brig Tito Friends, which came into port yesterday morning, after a passage of 65 days; bringing intelligence that the Ennerdale, Osprey, and Inchinnan had reached their destination, all well. The accounts received by the Two Friends are of much commercial interest to New Zealand ; proving to demonstration the admirable position of these islands as purveyors of the timber and provisions so much in demand by the rapidly accumulating population of California. The prudent enterprise exhibited by the mercantile community of Auckland is therefore likely, (we rejoice to say,) to be liberally rewarded. Timber, maintains an excellent price, and flour, potatoes, onions, and indeed all descriptions of agricultural produce, are stated to command the most extravagant figure. In our next we hope to give ample extracts from the local journals. At present we can merely remark that the condition of the country is represented as being orderly and quiet ; .and, although the diggings were being Abandoned for the winter, the products of «the gold season are stated to have been mqre satisfactory *hmn ever, — new fields developing their hidden treasures every diy. With a liberal government, what- might not New Zealand realize ? The Greyhound and tbt Two Friends tre but the scouts of a squadron we may in quest of our produce. But on this subject we aba)) yet have much to iay..£, Crow, Ftb. 5.
Besides the foregoing, there has likewise been shipped by some of the 25 vessels above enumerated, 51 tons of flour, 1137 boxes and 1 5 tons potatoes, about 5 tons of onions, 2 tons of bacon, 363 bushels of oats, 600 bushels of maize, 21 boxes carrots, 90 tons coals, 26 tons firewood, and lesser quantities of butter, eggs, dried fish and provisions, drays, wheelbarrows, and a variety of New Zealand notion*.
