The Eritonoa Stakes value £ — , added to a sweepstake of Two Guineas each — heats, twice round the course, open to all horses — weights, 3 years 8 stone 71b., 4 years 9 stone 71b., 5 years 10 stone, 6 years old and aged 10 stone 71bs. — Second .horse to save his stakes.
To start at 2 o'clock.
The Trial Stakes, value £ — , added to a sweepstake of 1 0s 6d each, for horses that have never run a race in this colony — post entrance, twice round and in — catch weights — second horse *to save 'his stakes.
To Start at I- past 2 o' Clock,
The Ladies Purse of £— , added to a sweepstakes of Two Guineas each — Gentlemen Riders — heats, twice round the course — weights, 6 year old and aged, 12 stone, 5 years 11 stone 71b., 4 years 11 stone, 3 years 10 stone.
On Wednesday, the 27th, To start at half-past Twelve.
Hukdle Race— a Purse of £20, added to a sweepstake of Two Guineas earh — heats, twice round the course, over hurdles 3 feet 9 inches high, yix leaps in tach heat, open to all hoises weights, 4' year old 10 stone, 5 years 10 stone 71b'., 6 years and aged, 11 stone — second horse to save his -stakes.
To Start ut \-past 2 o'clock.
The Petoni Stakes, value £ — , added to a Sweepstake of One Guinea each — heats, twice round the course — catch weights — second horse to save his stakes.
To start at half -past Three.
The Consolation Stakes, value £ ' , added to a Sweepstakes of £1 Is. each, open to all beaten horses. Post Entrances. Conditions the same as for the Eritonga Stakes.
Three horses to start or no race. "The -winner of the Jockey Club Handicap to carry 71b. extra, and the 1 winner of the Burnham Water Stakes to carry 71b. extra. Mores and Geldings allowed 31b. Thorough bred horses to carry 71b. extra. To -avoid disputes, -all horses <that hove at any .time been advertized in \this colony as thoroughbred, or may have carried the extra weight at any race as thorough-bred, will be considered ito come under that denomination. ' Thirty minutes only will be -allowed between the heats — at the *end of 20 minutes a bell will be rung for saddling and the start will take place punctually at the half hour. Objections to the age or" qualifications of horses "to be made in writing to the Secretary at Barretf s . Hotel, on or before Monday the 25th at noon. These races to be run in accordance -with the rules of the Wellington Jocfce.y Club, and all disputes to be settled "by the Stewards of the Races, whose decision shall he final.
No person -will be allowed to enter -a, Tkwsc Tor any of the Eaces unless a subscriber of one guinea to the fund. Dogs Tunning at large on the Course will be destroyed. Parties wishing to erect booths must do so under the direction of the Clerk of the Course, and by application to Mr. J. N. Burcham. ■ All entrances to be made from half-past 7to 9 o'clock on Saturday evening next, at Barrett's Hotel. J. M. Tayiob, Hon. Sec. and Treasurer. Subscriptions are open at the Union Bank and at the Aglionby Hotel, Biver Hutt, and parties wishing to subscribe are requested to do so without delay. 20th February, 1850.
