V{ 'S*r, — I enclose you a copy of the decision of -*he Stewards of the * Tasmanian Turf Club on the race for the Ladies' Purse, at Burnham Water, last year, (1849), by publishing which in your paper you will much oblige me. I am, Sir, Your obedient servant, Geo. Duppa.

Duppa, under the head of an advertisement, in a supplement to the Wellington Independent of Feby. 7, 1849, having been laid before us for opinion' we' desire to state, that after a careful examination, we have arrived at the unanimous con'fclnsion that Barbiere was the winner of the Ladies' Purse at the Burnham Water meeting on the 30 th January.
