The Races will take place at the Hutt as follows; On Wednesday, February 27th, 1850, To Start at \-^ast 12 o' Clock, The Eritonga Stakes value £ — , added to a sweepstake of Two Guineas each — heats, twee fund the course, open to all horses — weights, 3 years 8 stone 71b., 4 years 9 stone 71b., 5 years 10 stone 61b., and aged 10 stone 71bs. — Second horse to save his stakes.

To Start at %-past 2 o' Clock, The Petoni Stakes, value £ — , added to a Sweepstake of One Guinea each — heats, twice round the course — catch weights — second horse to save his stakes.

To Start at ±~past 3 o'clock.

The Trial Stakes, value £ — , added to a sweepstake of 10s 6d each, for horses that have never run a race in this colony — post entrance, twice round and in — catch weights — second horse to save his stakes.

On Thursday, the 28th, To start at half-past Twelve.

Hurdle Race— a Purse of £20, added to a sweepstake of Two Guineas each — heats, twice round the course, over hurdles 3 feet 9 inches high, six leaps in each heat, open to all hoises weights, 4 year old 10 stone, 5 years 10 stone 71b., 6 years and aged, 11 stone — second horse to save his stakes.

To start at 2 o'clock.

The Ladies Purse of£~ i added to a sweepstakes of Two Guineas each— Gentlemen Riders — heats, twice round the course — weights, 6 year old and aged, 12 stone, 5 years 11 stone 71b., 4 years 11 stone, 3 years 10 stone.

To start at half-past Three. The Consolation Stakes, value £ , added to a Sweepstakes of £1 Is. each, open to all beaten horses. Post Entrances. Conditions the same as for the Eritonga Stakes.

Three horses to start or no Tace. The winner of the Jockey Club Handicap to curry 71b. extra, and the winner of the Burnliam Water Stakes to carry 71b. extra. ~- Mares and Geldings allowed 31b. Thorough! bred Worses to carry 71b. extra. To avoid disputes, all horses that have at any time been advertized in this colony as thoroughbred, or may have carried the extra weight at any previous race as thorough-bred, will be considered to come under that denomination. Thirty minutes only will be allowed betweeji the heats — at the end of 20 minutes a bell will be -rung for saddling and the start will take place punctually at the half hour. Objections to the age -or qualifications of horses to be made in writing to ihe Secretary at Barrett's Hotel, on or before Tuesday the 28fh at noon. These races to be run in accordance with the rules of the Wellington Jockey Club, and all disputes to be settled by the Stewards, whose decision shall be final. Dogs running at large on the Course will be destroyed. Parties wishing to erect booths must do so under the direction of the Clerk of the Course, and by application to Mr. J. N. Burcham. All entrances to be made from half-past 7 to 9 o'clock on Saturday evening next, at Barrett's Hotel. ' J. M. Tatiob, Hon. Sec. and Treasurer.

Subscriptions are open at the Union Bank and at the Aglionby Hotel, Eiver Hutt, and parties wishing to subscribe are requested to do so without delay. 20th February, 1850.
