mHE PRICE OF ADVERTISING in the X " New Zealand Spectator and Cook s Strait Guardian" is — Three-pence a line for the firstinsertion of all advertisements, and one penny a line for every subsequent insertion. ' Advertisements will be received at the Spectator Office, Lambton Quay, up to Ten o'clock of the evening previous to publication.

MR. W. MARSHALL begs leave to inform the inhabitants of Wellington, the Hutt, Porirua, and Taranaki, that he intends opening, on the Ist of January, 1850, a BOARDING SCHOOL, for young Gentlemen. Mr. M., with a view to the above, has taken a house 'and grounds in Hawkestone-street, Wellington, where he is making considerable additions and alterations, and expects to have them all finished by the end of the year. The course of instruction will embrace a sound English Educa- > tion, including Book-keeping by double entry, Geometry, the elements of Land Surveying and Mapping, together with Drawing and Painting in oil and water colors. Also — French, German, and Latin. Religious and moral improvement will be sedulously attended to, and gentlenian-like deportment and honorable bearing strictly enforced. Terms —30 guineas per annum. Prospectuses with drawings of the house may be had on application to Mr Marshall, Hawkestone-street, Wellington. November 21, 1849.
