ALTONA.
A letter from Hamburgh of the 14th says that on the 13th, when the 2ud battalion of the 15th Regiment of Prussian infantry arrived at Aitona, the people gathered in great masses and pelted them with stones, -Another party tried to shut the gate by which they entered against them. The soldiers used their arms against the people, and there t wa* a'xegular battle, in which of course the military loss was comparatively insignificant, while that of the people was considerable. Ten soldiers were carried off to the hospital, and five rounds vrere fired by the soldiers. During the night a part of the burgherwehr united with the excited multitude to build barricades close to the Riding-school, where the battalion w&3 quartered. At these barricades fresh conflicts ensued. Towards th« morning the barricades were cleared away, and later everything was quiet. — Atlas, Aug. 18.
