HIS EXCELLENCY THE LIEUTE-NANT-GOVERNOR has been pleaed to direct that the following provisional appointments in the Customs and Treasury Departments in this Province be published for general information : — Stephen Carkeek, Esquire, late Sub- Collector of Customs at Nelson, to be Acting Collector at Wellington, vice Peter Dods Hogg, Esquire, suspeaded. John Poynter, Esquire, to be Sub-Treasurer at Nelson, vice Stephen j Carkeek, Esquire, l-emoved. i Charles Logic, Esquire, late Landing Waiter at Nelson, to be Acting Sub-Collector of Customs at that Port, vice Stephen Carkeek, Esquire, appointed Acting Collector at Wellington. The above appointments to date from the Ist July,. 1849. By his Excellency's Command, Alfred Domett, Colonial Secretary.
