At New Plymouth, July 4*h, 1849, Alexander Macshane, Esq., Surgeon to the New Plymouth Hospital, aged 37 years. Mr. Macshane had been but a short time in Taranaki, but his medical ability and amiable manners had endeared him to both races. He le'ares a widow and five children to deplore his loss.
