ROWLAND DAVIS HAVING disposed of his Premises known as the AURORA TAVERN, and Britannia Saloon, to Mr. James Firth, respectfully returns his most grateful thanks to his numerous Friends for the kind and liberal manner in which they have supported his Establishment for above seven years, and, at a period, in all probability, the most eventful in the history of the Colony. In taking leave of his Friends and Customers, R. D. refers with, pride to the many thousands who have attended the entertainments and assemblies at the Saloon, with the gratifying fact of no individual, since the opening of the Saloon, having been charged at the Police Office for misconduct ;— and begs to offer his thanks publicly to the authorities for the prompt assistance and indulgence awarded to him ori all occasions; and, in conclusion, assures his Friends, that he will always retain a grateful recollection of the unvaried kindness he has received.
ROWLAND DAVIS requests that any person having claims against him will send the same for payment, and persons indebted are requested to settle as soon as possible. Wellington, May 8, 1849.

THE Undermentioned Cattle have been impounded at Porirua for Trespassing on native plantations : I hereby give notice to the owners thereof, or their agent 3, to appear at the Resident Magistrate's Court, Paramatta, district of Porirua, on Wednesday, 16th inst., when I shall assess the damage done by the said cattle: and if not claimed on or before the 31st inst., they will be sold by Public Auction to defray damages and expenses. 1 red poly cow, with spotted flanks and rump, white tail and hind feet, branded on the near side with several letters. 1 red horned heifer, marked R off rump, M B near rib, and Y L near shoulder. 1 red and white spotted cow, white face, spread horns, with a black and white calf at her side. 1 red, horned steer, white star on forehead. 1 red and white spotted poly cow, with a brown and white spotted calf at her side. I white poly cow, brown tipped ears, and spotted neck, with a white calf at her side. 1 white poly cow, brown tipped ears, and spotted neck, with white calf at her side.
