First Day, THE HURDLE RACE.

For a Purse of 20 sovereigns added to a sweepstakes of £2 2s. Second horse to save his stakes. Open to all horses. Four year-old lOst. 71b., five, list., six year-old and aged list. 71b. Mares and geldings allowed 31bs. Thorough-bred horses 71bs. extra. Heats twice round the course, over 6 hurdles 3ft. 9in. high. To start at half-past Eleven o'clock.

ERETONGA STAKES

Of £2 2s each, with £20 added. The second horse to save his stakes. Three year-old Bst. 71b., four, 9st. 71b., five, lOst., Six year-old and aged lOst 71b. Mares and geldings allowed 31bs. Thorough-bred horses 71bs. extra. Heats — once and a half round the course. To start at Two o'clock, p. m.

THE SCURRY STAKES,

Of £l Is. each, with £10 added, second horse to save his stakes. Open to all horses. Catch weights. Heats — over the same course as for the Eretonga Stakes.

CONDITIONS.

Three horses to start or the public money will not be given. There will «be no distance post for the Hurdle Race. The ages of horses to date from the Ist of July in each year — so that a foal dropped on the 30th of June, 1848, would be classed as a two year-old on the Ist of July, 1849. Objections to the ages and qualifications of horses to be made in writing and delivered to the Secretary on or before 6 o'clock p.m., on Tuesday, the 10th April next, at Barrett's Hotel. All disputes to be settled by the Stewards previous to the race and their decision to be final. Thirty minutes allowed between the heats.

A bell will be rung at the end of twenty minutes for saddling, the start to take place ten minutes after. The usual rules of racing to be observed, except

when the same may be at variance with the above. All entrances to be made at Barrett's Hotel, on Thursday evening, sth April next, between the hours of half-past seven and nine o'clock

The Second Day,

Will comprise the Beaten Stakes, with the same conditions as the foregoing, contingent on the amount of subscriptions. J. M. Taylor, Hon Secretary and Treasurer March 31, 1849.
